Rosa Lorbergs
Founder of The Empire Rose
I started my apprenticeship in 2000 and have gained extensive experience working in salons throughout Melbourne. In 2005, I moved to London to work with Aveda as a qualified hairdresser, and while I was there I also had the opportunity to attend various Vidal Sassoon courses.
After returning from London in 2007, I worked as a senior hairdresser at Sweet Caroline in South Yarra.
In 2012, I established my own business, now known as The Empire Rose Hair , which was specifically designed to give clients the pleasure of a salon experience in the comfort of their own home.
My business has now grown and evolved. While I still offer some mobile hairdressing services, my main focus is now being based at my salon in Blackburn South.
Why the “Empire Rose”?
I chose the name The Empire Rose because it has a very personal meaning to me and my family. My mum loved Cup Day, and in 1988 she noticed there was a horse racing called The Empire Rose. Because my name was partly in it, she felt it was a sign and decided to back it to win — and it did.
From that day on, the name stayed with me and became my little lucky charm. As my business has grown and evolved, I felt this name reflected me more personally and suited where the business is today.
